Finally!

Annie can scoot! Today I was vacuuming and she was sitting and playing on the floor with her toys and I turned around to look at her and she was going after the vacuum cord. She's still being a little lazy and she'll only go as far as she absolutely has to before her fingertips just barely reach what she wants and then she stops, and you have to find just the right thing to bribe her with. But we're making progress! I tried to get a video, but of course she wouldn't do it anymore once I got the camera out. 

Poor Gabby

Last night after dinner Darren took the girls to go and run a few errands. They were gone for awhile and I was in Gabby's room putting away a few of her toys when they got back. I could hear Gabby crying before they even got in the house and I heard Darren say "Go show mom what happened." It turned out that Darren accidentally slammed Gabby's hand in the car door. He had put her in her car seat and just as he was closing the door she stuck her hand out. Her poor fingers were all bruised and swollen. So the above picture is Gabby sitting on our bed, watching Backyardigans while she eats a banana and puts ice on her fingers. Poor girl!

Yummy!

Okay, so I have a confession. I struggle when it comes to baking anything from scratch, especially if that something requires yeast and rising. But the other day I decided to try to make some cinnamon rolls, I found a good recipe online and Gabby and I spent the morning baking. I didn't have high hopes, but let me tell you they turned out pretty yummy! Even Darren liked them and he's kind of hard to please when it comes to that kind of stuff. Yay!

9 Months!

Annie had her nine month appointment today. She is 18 lbs. 4 oz. (the 40th percentile) and 28 inches long (the 67th percentile). She's starting to thin out, although you'd never know it to look at her, her cheeks are just as chubby as ever. She loves to just sit and play with her toys, and she loves books! I thinks she's going to be just like her sister in that regard. She has four teeth now, the two front bottom and the two front top. She's not crawling yet but we're working on it. I can't wait for her to crawl, I know it's going to be a lot more work, but it's so fun! 

Cute Old Video

I came across this old video of Gabby singing, and it is so cute I just had to put it up. I can't remember exactly how old she is. Somewhere between 12 and 14 months. 

My little Sunbeam

Gabby started Sunbeams this past Sunday. I can't believe my little girl is a Sunbeam! I'm one of the primary pianists so I get to be in there with her every other week. It wasn't my turn to play this past week, but I snuck in and sat in the back during her singing time and sharing time just so I could keep an eye on her. She did great! She and all the other new Sunbeams were so cute! 

Christmas Morning

We had a great Christmas this year. My dad and brother drove out from California on Christmas Eve and were able to make it to our house early enough on Christmas morning to see the girls open their presents. Gabby got exactly what she wanted from Santa, a princess backpack. Funny side story though, I had been asking her for weeks what she wanted Santa to bring her, and the only thing she ever said was a princess backpack, that was it. Then on Christmas eve, she says "I want Santa to bring me an ipod." I told her sorry, but I didn't think Santa was going to bring her an ipod. She says "Oh, okay then just a princess backpack." I'm so glad she's easy to please! Although she was excited about the backpack, her favorite present ended up being the magic wand that Spence got for her. Anabelle just had fun with the wrapping paper.
